The Truth About Weight Loss
By Daniella Prym

If you have taken the time to look up this article, it goes without saying that you are interested in losing weight. You Have probably been on endless diets and may have spent a lot of money on different diet programs or pills. Well, here is an opportunity to learn on what is going on in your body and what you need to change in order to lose weight. Education and common sense are key to weight reduction.

First of all, you look around you and you see some people who seem to eat as much as they want and still remain very thin. You seem to look at food and gain the pounds. So what is the difference. It is a process called metabolism. People with normal or high metabolism remain at healthy weights. They seem to have a lot of energy. Metabolism is a name for the rate at which you burn calories.

So you go on a diet, lose weight but are hungry all the time. So your body thinks it is starving and goes after the fat. But the body also feeds off of your muscle mass and that is a bad thing. The muscles you have are what primarily burn the calories. So once you go off your diet, you have less muscle mass and so whatever you eat can turn back into fat. Remember: Muscle = Metabolism. So you need to keep up your muscles.

Find a program that works for you and make sure you consult your doctor if you have any health concerns. One of the key ingredients in a weight reduction plan should be Leucine which stimulates muscle protein synthesis. Take the time to research this. Spend at least a half an hour a day exercising. Walking is fine and some light weights will help build up your muscles. Remember, muscles burn the most calories.
