Four Foods For Healthy Skin
By John Newcomb

Who doesn't desire healthy, radiant skin? It is the first thing a person sees when he/she meets you, and can leave a lasting impression. But rather than putting tons of make-up or using expensive cosmetic creams, it is much better to get healthy skin naturally. You can do this by regulating your diet and eating specific foods. In this article, we will look at a few such foods:

1. Water
While technically not a "food", water has perhaps the greatest impact on your skin. Most people are guilty of not drinking enough water in a day. Make sure that you have at least 8 glasses a day (the more the better). Your body requires it for a number of functions, and when it is dehydrated, the skin tends to shrivel up and become dry.

2. Green Tea/Herbal Tea
The benefits of green tea are many. It is full of antioxidants that fight aging and help reduce wrinkles. It also helps to keep your skin from drying up. Green tea has been known to lessen the damage caused by the sun and prevent sun burn. It also has cancer-fighting properties. Simply put, the benefits of this food item go far beyond just healthy skin. There is no reason why you shouldn't make it a point to have a glass of green tea every morning.

3. Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed, or flaxseed oil are very rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These are essential for healthy, supple skin. The benefits of a diet rich in these two acids go beyond mere healthy skin, though, as they are also a great way to increase your metabolism, fight cancer causing elements, and prevent cell damage. Other foods that are rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 acids are fresh fish such as salmon, nuts like walnuts or almonds, etc. These are also a good source of protein.

4. Carrots
Carrots are loaded with Vitamin-A, an essential component of skin cells. Carrots are also full of antioxidants that have age-reducing properties. Make it a point to have a couple of carrots a day either by themselves (they make a great accompaniment to other foods), or in a salad.
