Essential Oils are very powerful tools we can learn to use safely in our daily lives for stress, emotional issues and simple home care. Dating back to biblical times when plants of the earth were used for healing, spiritual ceremonies and anointing. By learning simple techniques from oils to use to application methods you can begin to use these natural wonders in your everyday life.
Our current economy has left many in a very stressful state both emotionally and physically. Stress can lead to heart disease, stroke, physical ailments and emotional trauma. Stress keeps our bodies in a constant uneasy state which makes whatever we are dealing with worse. When we learn to release the tension, create positive intentions and live in the moment we can get a handle on our stressful situation. When you are upset you don't think right, decisions are harder to make, you begin to question yourself and you life. Take charge of your own being and begin with small steps to eliminate any feelings that keep you up tight and fearful. Although we cannot change the stressful situations that come our way we can change the way we view them and deal with them. Instead of letting them consume you and build up focus on resolving them in a more natural way. Remember that with Essential Oils less is more, you only need 1 - 2 drops to see results.
For Emotional stress you can use oils that are relaxing and bring about a sense of calm. Essential Oils that contain Esters are calming and uplifting. Esters are generally safe, you can apply neat or diluted with a carrier oil like Fractionated Coconut oil or Jojoba. When looking for oils that contain esters, the constituents generally end in "yl" or "ate" like linalyl acetate. Essential oils containing Esters are: Lavender, Bergamot, Roman Chamomile and Clary Sage. They generally have a fragrant or fruity aroma.
There are a variety of ways you can apply Essential oils either neat (straight from the bottle) or diluted. Geranium for instance can be applied directly behind the ears and at the base of the skull for a migraine headache which is the way I use it. You can also add 1-2 drops in 1 tsp. of carrier oil and massage on the Solar Plexus whenever you feel you need it. Apply to the bottom of the feet after your morning shower and on pulse points like the wrist or behind the knee. Make yourself an anointing blend and make it a habit each morning to use it before you face your day. Use during meditation for deeper relaxation and calming.
Keep a journal by your bedside table and apply your oils then write. Whenever you feel stressed or down, it doesn't matter. If what you write does not seem to make sense that is okay as long as you release it from your mind which allows you to let go and not focus on it. Essential oils can assist in the process of helping you to relax and release that which is bothering you. Once you write it down then you can start the process of finding a resolution without allowing it to consume you.
Take the time to help yourself so that you live a healthy life both emotionally and physically. When you are healthy and happy those around you benefit. Stress just doesn't affect the adults, our children feel it as well which can interfere in their school work and relationships with friends. By showing our children how we deal with problems that arise we are teaching them a more holistic way of living.
Blessings,
