Stress Relief Tips
By Marcus D Williams

Are you in need of some serious stress relief? In today's society, there are a number of reasons why we get stressed out on a daily basis. Many employees have lost jobs they may have held for a long period of time, and are having trouble finding new ones in their field. College and high school students may get stressed out with finals, long study sessions that leave them with no sleep, and friends who may not have the same academic load, and who do not understand the student's stress. Family matters can also lead to stress. The more stress you have, the more important it is to find ways to alleviate your stress before it leads to health issues and hospital bills.

Talking to a friend over a cup of coffee, exercising, starting a blog, or chatting with a counselor can relieve your stress load. You may want to ask your counselor how he/she vents his/her stress. It is a pretty good likely-hood that he/she can offer you some valuable input and give you some much needed stress relieving tips. If you decide not to place a phone call to a friend, you may want to write your stressors down in a paper journal, or write them on your computer using Word Pad or Word Perfect.

Exercise; in particular, running or fast walking, can melt your stress away and leave you feeling better. If you are unable to run, a brisk walk will still allow you to let off steam and eliminate your stress.

Healthy eating habits can greatly reduce your stress. If you are both physically and mentally healthy, you reduce your chances of feeling stressed. Changing your eating habits to include more fruits and vegetables, consuming more lean protein, and devouring less sugar will leave your body feeling and looking better.

To avoid an extended visit to your local hospital it is advised that you get your blood pressure checked frequently. Your health care provider will treat your symptoms, but you can avoid such a visit by following the above tips on relieving your stress.

In summary, walking, running, other forms of exercise, writing in a journal, starting a blog, talking to a friend or counselor, eating an increased amount of fruits and vegetables, adding lean protein, and avoiding sugars are all ways to bring your stress down to more manageable levels and leave you feeling like a million bucks.
