How to Become Relaxed - Five Easy Steps
By Korki Smith

We live in a fast paced society, set up with every gadget imaginable that keeps us connected. Text, email, Facebook - you name it, you can stay connected with people 24 hours a day. But has this really helped? Or have created the ability that we can never unplug? With always being "hooked up" or "plugged in", it's easy for us to become stressed. Many people find themselves stressed, overworked and pulled in many directions. Many spend lots of money trying to learn how to be relaxed. Below are five simple points in helping you become and stay relaxed.

1. Listen to calming music each day - Take some time out of every day (I know..... I don't have time either!) to sit back and relax and listen to music that makes you feel good. Whether you choose jazz, Latin, or sound scape style music, unplug, unload and put your feet up - close your eyes and......"relax".

2. Don't Get Buried By The Small Stuff - Every day we encounter circumstances that will likely be beyond our control. Yes, some of them might be a result of poor choices from the past, but most things that come up will be out of your control. When this happen, stop - count to ten and really ask yourself "Is this a small detail that's not worth over reacting to"? When we don't over reacting to life's small stuff - that alone can help you feel relaxed.

3. Make Good Food Choices - Ever heard of garbage in garbage out? Well it's true. What you eat plays a major roll in in how you feel and even your reactions. So the next time you find yourself at the vending machine about to buy some junk food - don't. Make a healthy choice today. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

4. Think Positive - Did you know that your thoughts can control your mood and how you feel? A lot of people will often think negatively about a situation even before they know a final outcome! This can prevent your body from every entering into a zone of relaxation. While it's important to stay focused on reality, avoid negativity at all cost.

5. Stress Meditation Exercise - There's a big pay off here especially when combined with calming music as stated above. When you exercise, you release oxygen and blood flow to the brain. When this happens it can automatically make you fell better.

So there it is. Five easy steps to help you become relaxed!
