Getting Your Head Out of the Game
By Holly Chantal

I've been noticing lately that I am so focused on work that I have a hard time "getting my head out of the game" at the end of the day when it is time to de-stress and spend time with family. I know I'm not the only one so here are a few tips to reprogram at the end of the day and restore balance to your life.

1. Listen to music:  Listening to music can definitely change your mood and your mind set.  If you need silence to work then stopping and listening to music may help you move on to something else.  Listen to something up beat and energizing to get you going again after a long day.

2. Make a to do list: Your first thought may be that making a to do list is only going to stress you out.  I believe though that if you make a list of what you need to tackle when you get back to work the next day that you won't have to worry about it all evening and can focus on your family and the rest of your life.

3. Get away from your office:  If you work at home like me then sometimes it is hard to get away from your office, computer, and especially stay out of your email.  Make an effort to close the office doors when you're done for the day and shut down your computer so that you can't cheat and check your email.

There you have it, 3 easy ways to help redirect your thoughts and get away from your working mindset.  I'm sure you can think about a dozen others as well.  Living a balanced life is important no matter how you achieve it.
