It can feel overwhelming to try and keep up with the "latest and greatest" products in the makeup world. While it may seem like trends are always coming and going, there are timeless practices and tips that will keep you looking your best no matter what.

1. Using applicators that come with your makeup. One thing that most women overlook is their brushes. The difference in a good quality makeup brush and the applicators that come with the product cannot be overtstated. If you want to be able to put makeup on like the pros, then you have to use the same tools. Good brushes are the difference in average makeup and gorgeous makeup.

2. Using the wrong color foundation. The right color of a good quality foundation goes a long way in creating a flawless appearance. If you don't already have a great match in your foundation, the next time you are buying new foundation then test it on your wrist or your jawline. These areas more accurately represent how foundation will look on your skin.

3. Wearing the wrong makeup for the wrong occasion. We have all done it at one time or another or have known someone who did. Looking like you are going to a concert is not the look you want for a business meeting. Think of it this way, you wouldn't wear shorts to a cocktail party. Same principle goes with makeup.
