How Do I Improve My Sinuses Without Having An Operation?
By Melinda Walker

Ear candling is a relaxing treatment which can help enormously with nasal congestion and sinus problems. I have had this treatment on numerous occasions and found it to be enormously beneficial for clearing our my ear canals, helping with headaches and helping to get rid of my sinuses. During this treatment all the sinus and lymph nodes on the face and neck are massaged to loosen up and move any congestion in the ear canal.

The procedure generally takes around 70 minutes for a full ear candling treatment. You can buy the ear candles and have someone do it for you or even do it yourself but you do then miss out on the accompanying massage which I believe is an essential part of this treatment. Myself and a number of friends who have also tried this technique have experienced improvements in areas such as hearing, ear congestion, breathing, sinus problems and headaches or migraines.

During candling the client lays on their side while the candle is lit and inserted into a holding cone and then placed in the ear. In order for correct balance and a proper treatment the candle is inserted into each ear respectively so that both ears are properly and effectively cleaned out.

This procedure is quite strange and I have heard mixed reports of its benefits but for me I certainly noticed a big difference in my ears and the overall nose and sinus congestion. I like the fact that I just get to lay there and relax, while all the 'horrid' stuff is being sucked out of my ear canal. Sounds gross I know, but your head really does feel lighter afterwards. It's like having drained all the water out of your ears after swimming or having your ears finally 'pop' after being on a plane. I don't know it just seems to open everything up, make your head feel clearer and you a little lighter.

It is a good treatment to have every 6-12 months, particularly if you do suffer from nasal blockages, sinus congestion or headaches.

If you like to do the treatment yourself you can buy the ear candles at most health food stores, however it is not as relaxing when you have to hold the candle yourself.

For me I find this treatment helps most with my ear congestion and headaches or migraines more than anything else, but then I have only had sinus problems during my pregnancies and not so much on a regular basis. However, I do know people who have had this treatment specifically for sinus congestion and have noticed an enormous difference afterwards and as a result have had the treatment on several occasions to help with further blockage and congestion.

This is a treatment that is almost worth doing just for the experience, because it really is like nothing else you have ever had before, and hey if it helps then why not give it a try.

I hope that if you do try ear candling that you will soon start breathing and hearing better just by indulging in this simple yet effective technique.
