Be Well in 2010 and Start to Build a Healthy Happy Family

Take care of your teeth. Anyone who has not been taking care of their teeth, could be in serious trouble! Poor oral health has been linked to heart disease and stroke. The most recent theory is that the most common strain of bacteria in plaque easily becomes dislodged from your gums, then travels through your bloodstream and causes plaque to build up in your arteries. This then leads to the hardening of your arteries and restricts your blood low, which also increases your changes of a heart attack or a stroke.

It is easy to avoid this, by just brushing your teeth thoroughly for two minutes at least twice a day, and even brushing the gums, the roof of your mouth and the inner cheeks. It is also important to floss after brushing, and make sure you visit a dentist regularly in order to detect any problems.

An aspirin a day... could decrease the risk of a first heart attack by almost 44%. A daily aspirin has become accepted as an inexpensive preventative measure for people who've already had a heart attack or stroke or that are at high risk. In case you fit into any of these categories, make a point of asking your doctor whether a daily aspirin therapy is the right choice for you.

Check yourself by performing regular self-examinations for breast cancer or any bumps. This could lead to early detection, which means you would have a five-year survival rate of at least 95%. Check for any irregularities such as lumps, thick areas and dimpling in your breasts at least once a week after your menstrual period. This is because this is the time your breasts are less likely to be swollen and tender and you could detect any irregularities with ease.

Forget about dieting for this year, and rather try to focus on healthy eating and healthy habits. Crash diets do not work, the only answer to your weight woes is a healthy diet and a good fitness routine. This year, why not opt for a healthy eating plan, one that incorporates all food groups and nutritious low GI meals that is spread throughout the day, for you and your whole family. An eating plan like this one will help you to build a healthy happy family. Everyone in the family will be less hungry, have more energy and lose weight the healthy way. This will also keep your glucose levels balanced and prevent Type 2 Diabetes, which is currently affecting over three mission people in South Africa alone. Also do not forget to exercise regularly, as exercise facilitates weight loss and tones your body. You do not need to have the best work out program available, just start moving in any way you can, like taking walks, climbing stairs and playing with the kids. This will help you to build a healthy happy family. Then also be sure to incorporate some strength training or exercising as this will prevent the muscle and bone loss that comes with age.

Start to express your emotions, suppressing your emotions is harmful to your psychological health, and that of your family as well. For example frustration, depression and emotional pain. This year, make a point of releasing all the pent up tension you and your family may have. Start to laugh heartily and cry dramatically, you will feel much better and encourage everyone in the family to do the same and get a healthy family.

Love and then let go. All relationships have the potential to bring out the best and even the worst in you. If you are arguing, nagging or feeling down more than you should be feeling, then maybe it is time to review your love life or your personal relationships. Instead of channeling all your energy into something that does not work, break away, make a clean break and follow your heart's desire. If still single or you do not have children yet, and you have always wanted to travel for as long as you can remember, then why not do it now. If you have your family, then make a move or try completely new things you never would have before.

Get out there, with your family and start living. And find new interesting ways to build a healthy happy family.
