Synthetic Hair Extensions - How to Get Beautiful Hair Makeover Without Blowing the Bank
By Jacqueline Jade

You are looking for ways to get long hair or more fullness but don't want to wait for months for your hair to grow?

Well. Synthetic hair extensions can be used to add length to your hair. Hair extensions can be made of 100% real human hair, synthetic materials and a mixture of natural hairs and synthetic ones. Extensions are an excellent option if you are interested in going from short to long hair in a short period of time.

Synthetic extensions are much less expensive then natural extensions and come in many textures and colors. You can get very natural looking synthetic fibre extensions or very wild and extraordinary hair extensions. Some of the most common synthetic extension fibers include Toyokalon and Kanekalon.

Colors of extensions in synthetic are ranked by numbers and the lower the number the darker the hair color. You should be aware that the shades of color will vary depending on the manufacturer as each synthetic hairs supplier will use their own colors and patterns.

There are many different textures that can be used for synthetic extensions. The different curl patterns for synthetic hairs are endless. Yaki is a texture that resembles Afro-Caribbean hair. European is straight hair that may have a tiny bit of wave in it.

Deep wave is extension that looks like spiral curls. Romance wave or loose deep wave is a softer, more romantic curl. The Jheri Curl provides an afro look. The Wet and Wavy, also known as the Indian wave or Spanish wave uses human hair and not synthetic ones.

The care of synthetic extensions is a bit different as for natural extensions. For synthetic extensions a gentler shampoo is recommended. Each type of synthetic extension will come with its own directions for the best way to comb, dry and brush the extensions. Blow drying your hair on a very hot setting may melt the glue so it is important to follow the directions.
