Painless Back Hair Removal
By Angela Rousseau

If you are looking into methods of removing back hair and you have a low threshold for pain, there are definitely some options that would be better than others. Many methods involve some level of pain, but waxing has the reputation for being the worst. Variables such as skin sensitivity and the thickness of the hair will determine how much the waxing procedure will hurt. There are also topical creams that will numb the skin and reduce the discomfort during the waxing process. In the end, we should rule out waxing as a painless method of removing back hair.

The two methods that would probably be the most painless are shaving and using hair removal creams or dipilatories. Shaving, of course, is not without its dangers. As most of us know first hand, nicks and cuts are common and skin irritation can also occur. Some of the new razors that have been developed specifically for the back reduce the likelihood of cutting your skin while shaving. Moisturizers are recommended for people with sensitive skin to reduce the chance of irritation from shaving. So, if you can avoid skin irritation and nicking your skin, shaving can be a good bet for the painless removal of back hair.

Dipilatories are usually completely pain free. There is a possibility of developing a rash if you have an allergic reaction to an ingredient in the product. Most manufacturers recommend that you test a small area to make sure you will not have any reaction to the cream. The biggest issue most people have with hair removal creams is the unpleasant smell that most of them seem to have.

Laser hair removal has become a popular method of removing hair on large areas such as the back. Some people claim that the procedure is virtually pain free, but others say there is some level of discomfort during the treatment. Some technicians apply a topical anesthetic to the skin prior to the procedure to reduce any discomfort. Most people do not consider this method painful and compare the sensation of the laser to a rubber band snapping against the skin. As with any procedure, make sure you select a reliable and experienced professional to administer the laser treatments.

So for the most pain free methods of removing back hair, your best options would be shaving or using a hair removal cream, with laser hair removal following right behind. If you are looking for a painless and permanent solution, laser treatments will be the best choice.
