There are different hair types. Each type has its own sets of needs. In order to take care of it properly, each person has to identify the type of caring it needs.
Below are the common hair types and some tips on how you can deal with them accordingly.
1. The first type that we are going to talk about is the normal type. Consider yourself lucky if you have this kind. This type is probably the most manageable and the most flexible to style. It does not generate too much oil, nor does it dry and break easily. One thing you have to remember though is that you still need to take care of it. If you are going to shampoo it daily, use mild shampoo and do not forget to apply conditioner made for this type of hair. If you are going to use curling irons or other thermal products, be sure to apply protective creams or sprays first, to avoid it from getting burn.
2. Another type is the dry one. Dealing with it involves moisturizing. If it is dry, do not shampoo daily. Moreover, when you shampoo use those designed for that it. Do not forget to use a conditioner after shampooing as well. If your scalp gets too dry, flaky and it starts to itch, use an anti dandruff shampoo. As much as possible, do not blow dry your it but if you must, set the heat in low and use dryers that release negative charges to get rid of the frizz.
3. Another type is the oily hair. This is the opposite of the dry kind. If it is oily, shampooing daily is all right. However, you should avoid using shampoo with very strong component especially if it does not secrete too much oil. You still need to put a conditioner on but choose those appropriate products. Washing it daily does not aim to eradicate all the oils from your head. You need to wash it to keep the oil under control.
4. Curly ones are probably the most difficult to manage. They are prone to damage and frizz. However, curly hairs are very flattering. If you have it, keep it long. Curls look their best when they are long because its weight brings the volume down. Layered cuts look best on it too. It gives it body. Attach the diffuser when blow-drying. Never use brush. Instead, use a wide toothcomb. Deal with it as you would the dry type.
Understanding its needs will help you take care of it in a better way. Since each type has a different need, know what you have to do to achieve a healthy hair. Maintain the glow of your normal mane by shampooing and applying a conditioner. Protect it every time you use a thermal device like curling irons; this holds true for all types as well. The dry type will require moisturizing. The oily ones on the other hand need daily shampooing. Finally, keep your curls gorgeous by being cautious of what you put on it.
