Hair loss may not be a life threatening disease, but it is one of those thing millions of people all around the world have to go through in life. Having a full head of hair is often a part of one's character, personality and well being. Losing it is like losing a big part of you. Hair loss is something I personally had to go through in my early twenties. But I over came this, and now I can proudly say I have a thick full head of hair. I consider myself lucky because I did my research early enough, that I could salvage a lot of my hair and grow in most of the ones I had lost. And now ladies and gentlemen I will reveal my 5 steps to regrowing and keeping a full head of hair!
1) Try to live a healthier life style
A proper diet and adequate vitamin intake all contribute to overall health, which in turn contributes to healthy hair. Studies have shown that 15-20% of all hair loss is due malnutrition, and by "malnutrition" I don't mean starvation. Malnutrition is an inadequate consumption, poor absorption, or excessive loss of nutrients. Most people do not have a well balanced diet and people don't realize the just about every nutrient and soluble is important. In my research I found that fat is a major soluble for healthy hair. So if you're on an extremely low fat diet and also have thinning hair I would seriously consider changing your diet.
2) Buy a good Anti-Dandruff shampoo
A fungus known as malazzesia globosa causes dandruff. Malazzesia globosa is an air-born fungus, which is why dandruff can be treated, but it can never be completely cured. In addition to the scaling, which characterizes dandruff; the condition also can lead to hair loss. Studies have shown that with only 90 minutes of continuous scratching by the fingernails, it is possible to remove all of the cuticular scale, a protective covering on individual hairs, off of a hair shaft. This loss causes the hair shaft to weakened and permanently damaged, making it easy to break and cause hair loss.
3) Aromatherapy-
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils, including volatile plant oils, for psychological and physical well being. It can also be an excellent and safe way to promote hair growth without all the toxic chemicals. When essential oils like rosemary, lavender or cedar wood are applied to the scalp they activate thermal receptors, and kill microbes and fungi, which in turn may stimulate hair growth. I personally have tried this with great success! After 3 months I saw a significant difference.
4) Aerobics
Regular aerobic exercise can help keep Dihydrotestosterone levels (DHT) naturally lower while maintaining overall health, lowering stress and increasing SHBG. DHT is a biologically active metabolite of the hormone testosterone, formed primarily in the prostate gland, testes, hair follicles, and adrenal glands by the enzyme 5-reductase. Lifting weights without lots of aerobic workout can cause DHT levels to go up, that is probably why there are many bald muscle builders. Aerobics also promotes adequate blood flow in your scalp, also stimulating hair growth.
5) Block DHT
DHT is public enemy #1 when it comes to the survival of your hair. So a desperate situations can call for some desperate measures, to effectively combat hair loss you have to attack it at its source. There are currently products online that claim to inhibit DHT levels but very few actually work. I personally have been scammed before by some of these products, it was a very expensive experience. But I did find acouple that actually did do the job, but I'll the truth I prefer doing it the natural way with Aromatherapy and exercise because it's more economical and it just gives me more of a sense of accomplishment. But at the same my situation wasn't as chronic as others (plus I was young) and also it take a lot longer to see results. So if you're situation is very bad, I recommend either hair transplants or a good hair loss treatment.
