The Super Goodness of Sea Vegetables
By Mike Bunata

Are you tired of paying hundred's of dollars per month for life insurance? Along with getting yourself in shape and staying healthy, studies show that if you eat 5-10 servings of vegetables per day you are building your own insurance policy. Vegetables provide the body with compounds that you simply can't find in other foods. Carotenoids, such as beta carotene, and lycopene are just two examples what put sea vegetables on the top of our list of super foods for a super diet.

Sea vegetables are grown in the ocean. This is a natural environment that is ripe in minerals our body needs. Ocean water produces at least 92 minerals that are absorbed and used by the plants that are growing in the sea. This is why sea vegetables are one of the most nutritious foods on the earth. Want calcium? Try seaweed. Yes, I know, you are thinking that slimy stuff you step on at the beach, but don't worry, if the idea of eating seaweed is not on your list of top ten must do's, you are not alone. Thankfully, health food stores have several seaweed products that come in a salt-like granule form that you can use as a substitute for salt. You will not be able to tell the difference and it will keep your sodium levels low too!

Even if you don't like the idea of eating sea vegetable, you should probably get used to it, because you are more than likely consuming them without even knowing it. These little critters are present in products such as ice cream, and even toothpaste. They are also used to thicken and stabilize products. Of course, the ultimate sea vegetable chow down would be sushi.

Of course this article would not be complete without mentioning the weight lose benefits of this super food. After all, how super can a food be if it doesn't help with a diet plan. So here we go. The most effective part of a diet is when you eat less and feel full faster. This is done best when the food that you eat is quality food. You can eat a lifesaver that has only one calorie, but that isn't going to fill you up. The more minerals and vitamins your body has, the less your body craves extra food. It is a proven fact.

If you go to Taco Bell (I like to use Taco Bell as an example, it's close and fast, and has that darn 99 cent menu) and have a 2000 calorie meal, (two tacos) you will most likely still be hungry, right? The reason for this is that your body has gotten a lot of calories, but not a lot of nutrition.

Add ocean vegetables to your meals and you will notice a striking reduction in food cravings. This is huge if you're looking to lose weight.

Sea vegetables help you eat less because they provide you with more minerals and overall nutrition than almost any other food out there.

Sea vegetables are a super food. They can transform your health, your beauty, and your overall you. If losing weight and staying healthy are your goals for 2010, adding sea vegetables to the mix is a must.
