I received this from my cousin - (the American Indian side of the family). It struck my heart and mind like an arrow and so I pass it on to you. An elderly Cherokee man was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me. It is a terrible fight between two wolves. One
wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride, and superiority. The
other wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity,
humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity,
truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside of you and every other person too." The children listened and thought for a while and then one asked her grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The Cherokee elder simply replied, "The one I feed." This simple story illustrates the paradox within our present health system. We have the capabilities to produce and supply the BEST quality of food to any and all citizens |
