People don't always associate weight loss with aerobics. However, studies show that aerobic exercise may be the perfect companion with watching what you eat.
Participating in aerobic activities is a great way to help you lose weight and feel better, inside and out. Ever heard of a couch potato? Doesn't sound very appetizing. Any physical activity (even standing!) helps burn more energy than sitting and watching television. When you burn energy, you burn calories, and thusly burn off excess pounds. Plus, when you sit and eat while watching TV, you're adding many calories to your daily diet that are not getting burned off.
However, for most people, the more you exercise with aerobics, the more your metabolism will increase, and the more calories you will burn when you aren't doing anything. So in essence, by partaking in aerobic exercise, you are actually buying yourself time to sit and relax and not worry about gaining weight while doing so.
Another common side-effect of aerobics is craving healthier foods. As you become more and more fit, you will likely want to put healthier, more nutritious foods into your body to maintain a strong, healthy feeling. You will also likely naturally avoid foods packed with sugars and fats that make you gain weight. Lean protein, fresh fruit and vegetables provide sustained fuel for muscles throughout the day and leave you feeling full and refreshed instead of dull and weighted down. After increasing your fitness level, you will actually want to eat these foods, and even feel better for it at the end of the day!
