We can control our weight and out going obese body by taking care of
few things in our daily routine. Few things are like try to take two
less cookies, satisfy thirst with sparkling water or a diet soft drink
instead of sweetened beverages, just leave a few bites of food on your
plate, replace mayonnaise or cheese on your sandwich with mustard,
lettuce and tomato, choose whole to fat-free milk, take half of usual
amount of salad dressing, and choose vinaigrette instead of creamy
dressing, always use nonstick cooking spray instead of butter,
margarine, or oil for pan-frying, replace low-fat or fat-free yogurt
for sour cream in dishes, check snack portions by putting your snacks
in a baggie or on a plate instead of eating out of the bag, try to
drink 100% fruit juice instead of juice with added sugar, opt light
beer or wine instead of frozen or fruit-based cocktails, always order a
cup of broth-based soup instead of a bowl, avoid the croutons on your
salad, do have a healthy appetizer and salad instead of an entrée when
eating out, add your pasta with vegetable sauce instead of cream sauce,
check the butter on steamed vegetables, dress them with a squeeze of
fresh lemon. Reduce meat portions to 3-4 ounces in diet. For early
weight loose begin by shaving 500 calories a day via diet and exercise.
This will help to lose about a pound a week. Key for good health is to
keep trying to eat the right foods and stay in touch with your doctor
and nutritionist, so they know how you are doing. We can improve our
eating habits by finding the strong points and weak points in our
current diet. Are we eating 4 1/2 cups of fruits and vegetables every
day, enough calcium, are we having whole-grain, high-fiber foods
regularly? If yes then we are having right diet and if no then we
should seriously start thinking regarding this. Changes should be small
and steady, instead of trying to make large, fast changes. These
changes will be easier to make and stick with. Track food intake by
writing down what you eat and drink every day will help a lot. Keeping
record will help you see if you need to eat more from any food groups.
Do seek help from a nutritionist if you haven't already done so,
especially if you have a medical problem that requires you to follow a
special diet. Diet nutrition tips and diets from different sources
often conflict with each other. We should always check with your doctor
first. We don’t have magic words for good body. Quickly you can you
lose weight, it difficult to keep up and may even be unhealthy in the
long run.
