A fitness boot camp is generally a team of people led by an instructor to exercise outdoors. It is similar to a military training camp in some ways such as team spirit and group training. Such a fitness program is generally conducted outdoors without the use of many special types of equipment a gym offers. It depends on strengthening the body by running and using the body's weight to burn fat and similar exercises.
Boot camps provide a different environment to people who may get bored working in a gym. This difference helps them stay committed to their goal. So they can reach it easily and quickly than in a gym atmosphere. A boot camp is generally held 3 to 5 days a week and the campers are occasionally given "home work" to train on the non-camp days. It is often cheaper than obtaining the services of a personal trainer as the person is being trained as a part of a group and the cost is generally shared between them.
A boot camp is usually conducted in an outdoor space like a park and without the use of much equipment. But they effectively replace the expensive gym machines and work even better in reducing fat and toning muscles. Once the program ends the campers will be able to practice more easily in their own homes. The uniqueness of such a fitness program is that it does not require you to make an investment by buying expensive machinery like treadmills. One who completes the camp training need not even join a gym after that as exercises to tone every part of the body are taught in the program.
Even though fitness camps are trained as groups, a group is divided into teams of two, three or four. And the group usually does not contain more than 20 members. This means individual attention of the instructor. It is almost like hiring a personal trainer who may charge more than twice the amount for a normal boot camp. Working in groups reduces individual attention is a wrong notion regarding these camps as the individual is set in a group of like-minded goals which help him/her stay motivated. The camp also teaches a person to set his/her goals and how to stay motivated in it. Once a person finishes a task in the camp which he/she thought earlier was impossible, it creates a great amount of self-confidence in them.
These camps push the individuals past their limits. Though it might seem difficult in the beginning, it shows the campers about their true capabilities. It gives ideas to the campers on how to increase their fitness just by motivating themselves. They improve the efficiency of the exercises by showing them the proper way to do it and it also helps the individuals form a regular and routine exercise plan and gives encouragement needed to stick on to it. A person may find running everyday difficult but when he/she is brought into the routine of running by fitness camps for a month, it becomes a practice and they can do it more ease.
Fitness camps are designed specially for people who find it hard to stay motivated or find hiring a personal trainer too expensive. While a professional personal trainer may charge up to $100 an hour, most camps are much more affordable as they charge $150 - $200 per month and the campers get trained 3 to 5 days a week besides having advantages like usage of little or no equipment and working as a team. So joining a boot camp is an affordable option for improving fitness and burning fat.
