Exercise Tips to Help You Lose Weight and Keep it Off For Good
By John Leotardo

It is no secret that a steady exercise regimen has far more benefits for your health other than just simply burning calories. It will help your heart become healthier, and even has been proven to reduce depression. If you've been procrastinating, then get out there and go for a walk! Here are some simple tips to help you along.

First, you shouldn't overexert yourself at the beginning. Starting off with a simple 15-30 minute walk 3 times per week can work wonders. While you won't burn many calories this way, you'll at least get your foot in the door, so to speak. You can gradually work your way up to power walking, then to jogging. As your body begins to get used to exercising, you'll find that it gets easier to push yourself a little bit harder each time.

Depending on the area you jog in, you should be mindful of your surroundings. If there are sketchy areas of your town and you are jogging while it's dark out, just avoid those areas all together. Also, be sure to watch out for cars. Wearing light colored clothing while out exercising will help drivers see you and avoid any accidents. Also, be aware of any stray dogs or other animals that may not be so friendly!

If you are going to do weight training, then you are on the track to success. The more muscle you build, the more your metabolism will rise considering muscle tissue burns almost twice as many calories as fat does! Again, start off small and work on your tone before trying to do something crazy like benching your own body weight right off the bat!
