Better Sleep Through Exercise
By Brett Chimay

If you aren't sleeping well at night, it can change all aspects of your life. For one thing, you'll be very tired throughout the day. So, you won't do anything efficiently. That can affect your work and family life in a very negative way.

Another problem is that the body uses sleep to recover from the day's activities. Without proper sleep, minor damage to things like muscles can't be repaired and will become worse. Also, lack of sleep weakens your immune system, as a whole.

Your immune system is very important. To start with, having a weak immune system will give you a higher chance of getting sick. Also, it means that you'll probably stay sick longer. So, for example, your spouse might get a cold that lasts for a couple days. You might get that cold next and have it last for one or two weeks.

So, as you can see, there are severe consequences for lack of sleep. So, how do you get more sleep at night? Well, one way is to exercise throughout the day. Exercise will tire you out, so that you sleep better.

You see, people who work sedentary jobs at office desks don't get a lot of exercise. As a result, they are often wide awake into the wee hours of the morning. So, don't be like that, even if you have an office job. Walk more. Go to the gym if you can. Use any excuse to just get up and move for a few minutes and you should find it easy to drift off to sleep at night.
